Maybe you need to ask the Father in the church? You could do for the church and left out, but that does not help the Quakers, Baptists and others. With perhaps a long history with fresh vegetables would be useful. Reconstruction or used toys for birthdays and holidays!
These poor children Catholic? If so, what is the problem? Most children do not choose to be religious. So I'd like to see that this would be pretty useless. But should you do if you feel good, some think it's a nice thing to do.
